Earlier this year KAR Racing announced they would field a dirt modified car to compete in the IMCA Dirt Modified Series in 2010.  Construction of that car is currently in process and it should be ready to compete by the end of April.

Built on a chassis by legendary car builder Larry Shaw, the car will feature a 730 HP V-8 motor by local engine builder Bob Rahilly; a Bert transmission, Wiles driveshaft, Tiger rear axle and other components from well know manufacturers like Turn One, Quick Time, MSD, RCi and Swift.

The car is being prepared by well know car builder and Northeast DIRTcar Hall of Fame Member, Charlie Langenstein; owner of KAR Racing and father of the team’s young driver, Austin Langenstein.  Charlie’s has over 35 years experience in building winning cars, be it in a dirt car series, such as he did with famed drivers like Larry Voss, Jimmy Horton and Brett Hearn: as well as legendary drivers like Will Cagle and Kenny Brightbill; or in NASCAR with Rob Moroso, Bobby Hamilton, or at Hendrick Motorsports with the No. 48 of Jimmie Johnson.

KAR Racing is looking forward to challenging for championships at Carolina Speedway in Gastonia, East Lincoln Speedway in Stanley and at other tracks throughout the central Carolina region.

MEET RILEY

Riley Nikole Langenstein was born 9 weeks premature, at which time she suffered a massive Brain Aneurysm and a mild stroke.  The doctors said there was a chance Riley may not survive and, if she did, she would never use her arms or legs and would have extreme mental disorders and possible retardation.  Read More...
